0 Brutal Urban Downhill Mountain Bike Morro Santa Marta Rio de Janeiro BrazilBrutal Urban Downhill Mountain Bike in Morro Santa Marta – Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This is purely for fun, especially these days in which those downhill mountain bike rides are so popular. I think the source of the video clip is Root Rider Teve.
Riders race though the winding paths and over the roofs of the Favela Dona Marta at the foot of Morro Santa Marta in Rio de Janeiro. The course of 800m descended 170 vertical meters with plenty of jumps. The favela community really enjoy the event.

Make Plans To Prepare Well For A Mountain Bike Excursion

Posted on 2nd June 2011 by Seolink-Mountain Bikes in Mountain Biking - Tags: , ,

Summer has come round yet again and it’s time to consider the family summer holiday if you haven’t already before and you therefore come to the decision that a mountain bike holiday is a great plan. Your wife loves the idea and of course the kids are besides themselves with joy. At least this kind of mountain bike break, she decides, will mean she may actually get to spend some time with you at least.

You throw the kids in the back of the car whilst your wife settles herself in the passenger seat. You then quickly go back inside to collect all the bags that have been stuffed with whatever clothes and equipment has been collected from around the house and throw them too into the back of the boot.

After finding the mountain bikes in the shed, you attempt to attach them to the roof of the car before getting into the driver’s seat and setting off.Is this right? – The short answer is of course, no, it isn’t. More time is required to make sure that everyone is ready for a mountain bike holiday and that everything is packed properly.

Firstly, it’s important to remember that mountain bike riding isn’t just a case of hopping on and pedalling off. The bikes themselves need lots of careful preparation and maintenance before a holiday like this. Without it, the bikes may be dangerous to use, especially if they’ve been sat in the garage for long periods of time. Who knows what condition the mountain bike is in after long periods of time sat in the garage. Like all machines, if they are left for too long they can begin to seize-up and suffer from rusty moving parts. It makes great sense to make sure that the mountain bikes are not rusted up and that the moving parts are loose and well oiled. Especially for the children, it is the parent’s responsibility to make sure that the mountain bike is well oiled and rust free to prevent accidents.

It is truly important to make sure that the you pack a spare tyre inner tube and some puncture repair equipment and a small tool set to enable you to change and repair tyres. Water bottles that are easily mounted on the mountain bike frame are essential, as well as spare water containers that can be carried in backpacks. Other kinds of emergency products that would be wise to take on a mountain bike holiday would be batteries and spare bulbs for the bike lights.

Bike Racks Mounted On Your Hitch or Spare Tire

Rear mount bike racks provide secure and easy transport of your bikes and depending on the type will carry up to five bicycles . Yet you probably have a couple of questions about picking the right bike rack for you? Here is a quick list of things to consider before purchasing a rear mounted bike rack.

There are a number of things you will want to consider before you begin looking so you feel confident that you have found the right bike rack for your needs:

1. Does your vehicle have a rear based spare tire that could not be compatible with some bike carriers ? If it does then you will want to look at spare tire bike racks.

2. Does your vehicle have a hitch? Then I suggest you look into the hitch mount bike racks. ( Consideration : there are some hitch mount bike racks that come with extra long arms to reach over a spare tire.)

3. How often do you intend to use the bicycle carrier ? Will it stay on the vehicle long-term? If so choose a folding rack which swiftly folds away from the hatch or trunk for easy access.

4. How many bikes will you be carrying? You will find rear mounted bike racks that hold from 2 – 5 bicycles at once .

5. Will you be using the rack on different vehicles? Be certain the rack fits both vehicles. ( Idea : Even if both vehicles have a rear hitch you will want to check the size of your hitch. There are two basic sized hitch receivers, they are the 1.25 inch and the 2 inch.)

6. How much do you plan on paying? styles will run from under $100 up to $400.

7. Do you have other outdoor activities that you enjoy? Some racks can be fitted with adapters for transporting sports equipment such as skis.

Rear mounted bike racks are easy to attach and carry your bicycles safely but don’t cut down on features to reduce cost. Some models are light weight and will tilt out of the way so you will easily access your trunk or hatch. These features are well worth a couple extra bucks .

Love Is Like A Mountain Bike

Posted on 30th May 2011 by Seolink-Mountain Bikes in Mountain Biking - Tags: , ,

If I’m in a foul mood and feeling sad, I give a little consideration to what I might do to get out of the feeling. Usually, I will come to the same conclusion time and time again. I go and tend to my mountain bikes to keep them in good working order. Sometimes, I may even get one of my mountain bikes out and take them for a jolly good ride.

To ensure my happiness, mountain bikes need to be part of the equation. Because of this I need to ensure that my mountain bikes are in very good condition because they ensure that when I’m being a misery, my mountain bikes are up to the job of saving me from myself.

Over the years, my mountain bikes have been the single most giver of fun and elation during my mature adult life. This is why I turn to them when I’m down and why I love them so much.

I have only used mountain bikes to ensure my health and fitness for the same period of time. For those that ride mountain bikes as exercise, it should be recommended that it is one of the most useful activities going.

In the years to come I will no doubt continue to adore the outdoors and the exploration of new parts of nature when riding my mountain bikes. I often consider life without my mountain bikes, and to be honest, life doesn’t seem worth living without them.

Clearly I love my mountain bikes a lot, of that you can be quite sure. Try riding mountain bikes if you haven’t done so before – it really will work wonders. Riding mountain bikes will help anyone who wants to achieve the ultimate goals of joy and good fitness.

Finding the Best Bike for You – What To Seek Out

Posted on 29th May 2011 by Seolink-Mountain Bikes in Cycling,Mountain Biking - Tags: , ,

There’s no shortage of reasons why people are taking up cycling. There are many that decide to ride bicycles because they are able to save a ton of money on both the price of gas and maintenance costs. There are those who choose to cycle because they want to do their part in helping the environment.

And others still are riding simply because they love to ride. No matter the reason you want to find the perfect cycle for you, you should keep certain things in mind when you are ready to go shopping. If you really want to choose the perfect cycling bicycle, you need to think about more than just what it looks like. Here are some helpful tips that you can use to help you decide which bicycle you should buy.

We’d be lying if we tried to tell you that fashion shouldn’t play into your choice. We all like one color or style more than another. You’d be silly not to pay attention to these factors when getting your new bike. Obviously, the style and fashion elements of the bicycle should not be your top priority (unless the bicycle is just for show). Check to see how your bicycle choices rate for both safety and comfort at the very beginning of your search. After finding bikes that are both safe and comfy, then you can see which ones look the best to you. Believe it or not, your bicycle seat should not sit at its lowest setting, resting against the crossbar. You always want to bring the seat up at least a few inches when you begin to ride, so keep this in mind when you are picking your bike. Adjusting your seat up a few inches will give you more clearance between you and the crossbar of your bicycle, which can add quite a bit of comfort to your ride. The ideal seat height can be achieved, by ensuring that your leg is very close to completely extended, when your foot is at it’s lowest position while on the pedal. Also, in case you’re interested, you should check out E3Live algae, it’s a pretty impressive health supplement and I really like to take it before I go cycling.

Be certain to leave adequate room between yourself and your bikes crossbar. When browsing for a bike try some out, make sure the seat is a few inches above the crossbar. Make certain you can still place both feet flatly on the ground. Different bikes will need differing clearance amounts. A good example is a touring bike, with these bikes you will only need around 1″ difference. With a mountain bike however you will need some more, 3 inches should suffice. You have many things to consider when getting a bicycle. Some people will need a bicycle that can stand up under a lot of wear and tear. You may simply what the most reliable bike for getting you around the city. Price may be the biggest thing you want to consider. Be sure to shop around before taking the final decision and parting with your cash. Buying the first bike you find is not advised, in doing this you could end up with a terrible bike and miss out on one that is perfect for you. Last but not least, remember to check out our E3 Live reviews.

Mountain biking is a really well-liked extreme sports activity throughout a lot of the world. It is classed as an extreme sport simply because it can be extremely tough an oftentimes incredibly dangerous, and it puts a tremendous  amont of bodily exertion on it’s participants. Mtn biking is the art of using a specifically modified bicycle, across incredibly tough terrain, typically in the mountains or anywhere, as long as it is off-road. Many Mtn biker clubs manage  tournaments and shows for the greatest mountain biker, to strut their stuff.

There are three major types of mountain biking categories, which are downhill, cross country and freestyle. The free style is exactly what the title suggests, its mountain bikers performing their own aerial displays and jumps on specially made ramps. Freestyle is also used in the city as it is fast becoming the new skate board type craze. Cross country is when an individual, or a group of mountain bikers, take a cross country trek. This can involve one or two nights camping out to increase the experience. Downhill is primarily for competitions and includes speeding straight down mtns and roads doing tricks or simply pace racing.

The bikes on their own are awesome, they possess independent forked suspension and a lot of them have disc brakes, it is really important to be capable to slow or stop quite quickly. The body of the bicycle is incredibly strong and incredibly light, with the tires being broader and thicker than an regular bike. The gears on a mountain bike are normally lower to allow for the uphill struggles the rider could face. Mtn biking is even spawning it’s own type of sports wear, with unusual helmets and gloves on the market already, and much more in the pipeline. Mtn biking is an exhilarating activity, and it can absolutely increase ones wellness and fitness.
