How To Buy A Mountain Bike

Posted on 24th May 2011 by Seolink-Mountain Bikes in Mountain Biking - Tags: , ,

You’ve decided to just take the jump and buy some sort of mountain bike, although one things also needs figuring out and that is certainly which design and style of mountain bike best agrees with your needs. Right here we examine the three common models from which you can choose to help you make that decision.

Full Suspension Mountain BikesBy far the most recently launched sort of mountain bike provides the biker comfort and ease, the full suspension style taking much of the impact upon rocky surfaces. A lesser amount of stress on the human body usually means a lesser amount of exhaustion and makes it possible for more time rides. Nevertheless, ease and comfort can certainly comes at a price with top of the range specification full suspension mountain bike costing several 1000s of pounds – however, there usually are very fine whole suspension mountain bikes that don’t have to cost as much. The highest price tagged bicycles are usually best suited to a mountain bike rider with experience.

Rigid Mountain BikesThe classic rigid shape mountain bike with its shortage of suspension means that serious off road riding can be tough and prove exhausting over very long durations. Costs for a respectable spec rigid mountain bike are usually a lot reduced as compared with other forms of mountain bike and with less parts, repair charges are cheaper. Rigid framework mountain bikes are commonly the preference of individuals with commuting in mind, whom may perhaps additionally desire to engage in the infrequent spot of trail cycling. Although a great deal more knowledgeable cyclists can frequently end up being found dusting off their own rigid frame for the winter months in order to brush up his or her capabilities and keep running costs lower during the unforgiving muddy conditions.

Hardtail Mountain BikesA hybrid of the other two variations, the hardtail body offers suspension in the front forks along with a rigid rear end. Catering to just about all demands, this cycle is actually as at home upon the tarmac as it is on the grime track and many tend to be fixed with lock-outs to disable suspension for road riding. Being able to do almost everything is without question this bike’s major plus as well as being fantastic value for money. Hardtails are a fantastic starting place for newcomers, because they are not as forgiving as a full suspension frame and thus they can teach the rider the abilities to handle their bike competently. The front suspension can provide some protection even so from the errors that most newcomers tend to be likely to make.

eBike (Bionx) vs. Mountain bike

Posted on 20th May 2011 by admin in Mountain Biking - Tags: , , , , , , ,

0 eBike (Bionx) vs. Mountain bikeAs I’m crossing the street a mountain bike goes flying by on my left. I follow an older couple for a bit and then get back up to my normal speed. I easily catch up to the mountain bike which is doing about 30 km/h. When I pedal my eBike with assist turned on I can easily go 38 km/h without breaking a sweat. I actually have to slow down to follow with.

Too bad the camera’s memory filled up and the video was cut short cause I pass by him a few 100M down the road on an uphill segment.

The loud sound you hear is from the electric motor vibrating through the frame. The camera’s mic easily picks up the vibration.

Mountain Bikes Are Great For Using When The Sun Goes Down

Posted on 12th May 2011 by Seolink-Mountain Bikes in Mountain Biking - Tags: , , ,

Using mountain bikes is a brilliant method of getting fit whilst exploring the wonders of nature at the same time. It is also true that mountain bikes can give the rider a truly fabulous feeling of freedom. They are also most usually ridden throughout the day when trails can be tackled more easily and the rider can see the beauty of the world as they pass through it.

Another method of riding mountain bikes is to take them out for a spin during the night. Night mountain bike riding has become a popular activity among many riders of mountain bikes, mainly because of the incredible differences in how the countryside can be appreciated. Head torches have enabled many more people to safely ride mountain bikes when the sun has disappeared.

When intending to ride mountain bikes in the dark it makes great sense to do some basic preparation beforehand. The equipment you carry with you will be similar to any other time of day, such as water, food and bike spares like inner tubes and a small tool-set. It’s best to also take a head mounted torch with batteries and some warm spare clothes as well.

Keeping warm is important no matter what the season is during the night. If it’s summertime, you shouldn’t rely on this to keep you warm. When night falls and the sun has gone to bed, the temperatures outside are capable of dropping pretty fast.

Torches that mount on the head are highly important and are essential for safe trail riding after dark. Many people do night riding well but all have one thing in common – they make sure that they have the right type of lighting. Riders of mountain bikes should already be aware that when out on their bikes that things can sometimes go wrong. It would be a terrible thing to be caught in a dire situation in which problems could not be found due to the lack of foresight and lack of essential basic equipment.

The Perfect Orange Mountain Bikes for Female Riders

Posted on 10th May 2011 by Seolink-Mountain Bikes in Mountain Biking - Tags:

There’s really no denying the differences between men and women. For years, designers of sports clothing and equipment have let the physical differences between the sexes influence their designs, so why should mountain bikes ignore the differences? These days mountain bike designers are noting the differences. Most mountain bike manufacturers now offer women specific designs- WSD for short. Orange mountain bikes’ take on the perfect bike for the female form comes in the shape of the Diva, which has been carefully designed by the brains at Orange mountain bikes to suit the female physique, offering the kind of confidence and comfort in a ride that just isn’t possible for a smaller lady rider on a traditional bike.

The average female rider will have no questions over the necessity of WSD models. Traditional mountain bike shape and geometry forces female riders into an uncomfortable stretched position, offering them an unwieldy ride. Orange mountain bikes designed the Diva models to reinstate the control and confidence on the trails.

Orange mountain bikes supply both a Diva hardtail and Five Diva, the WSD version of the well known and loved full suspension model. Both designs incorporate ‘the perfect geometry for the smaller feminine physique.’ Orange Mountain Bikes’ designers claim the Diva places the rider in a more central position, giving her better balance for a more stable ride. There is a shorter top tube and the seat tube angle is steeper so the rider is pushed forward over the bike. This means her weight is kept on the front end of the bike, giving her a more confident riding position. Manoeuvrability and controlled climbs are the order of the day thanks to the steep seat angle.

Riders of under 5 feet tall can easily be accommodated on these bikes, thanks to their low stand over clearance. The great thing about these models is that the WSD additions have not detracted from the high tech approach we have come to expect from Orange mountain bikes.

Getting Better Strength to Ride Trek Mountain Bikes

Posted on 9th May 2011 by Seolink-Mountain Bikes in Mountain Biking - Tags: , , , ,

Mountain biking is synonymous with sometimes dangerous but exhilarating biking trails that can range from cliff-face climbing to pastoral countryside and open farmland. The environmentally friendly and health inspiring qualities of mountain biking mean that everyone is a winner. The mountain bike industry is also behaving responsibly to the environment – Trek mountain bikes are made in a carbon-neutral factory.

It’s perfectly true that mountain bikers themselves need to keep their integrity too. The more difficult and dangerous trails are made more manageable by the mountain biker staying healthy. Whilst it’s important to use stamina to complete trails, as most bikers who own a machine from the range of Trek mountain bikes will no doubt already be aware, physical body strength is also essential.

Maintaining body strength and weight is vital to ensure mountain bikers remain in control of their bikes in dangerous situations. It helps them to ‘stay loose’, meaning that they retain the ability to react and ride freely through difficult obstacles and terrain, without losing control.

There are many ‘bodyweight exercises’ that can be undertaken to achieve improved physical strength, the easiest and simplest being push-ups and pull-ups. The aspirational rider of Trek Mountain Bikes however can do no wrong by using a work-out process rather than just these simple techniques. Riders of Trek mountain bikes, aspirational as they usually are, may do well to complete a true work-out programme however, rather than these basic routines.

It is advisable for mountain bikers to seek advice about fitness training, and read books by mountain biking professionals like John Metcalfe. Many big bike brands have teams that the public can follow such as Trek World Racing which follow the professionals, and witnessing first-hand how they prepare is recommended.

Being the owner of a bike like those from the range of Trek mountain bikes is quite something, however, learning to be fit to enjoy riding it is quite another.

Pointers to Help You Find the Right Bicycle

Posted on 30th April 2011 by Seolink-Mountain Bikes in Mountain Biking - Tags: , , , , ,

There is no shortage of reasons for choosing to cycle. Some people choose to ride bicycles because they cannot afford the cost of gas and automobile maintenance. Others choose it because riding a bike is better for the environment than travelling in a car or using public transportation.

And there are some who like to cycle simply because it is fun. Whatever your reason for going cycle shopping there are some definite criteria that you need to think about before you make your choice. If you really want to choose the perfect cycling bicycle, you need to think about more than just what it looks like. Outlined hereafter are some pointers you can take into consideration when going out to buy your bike. No matter whether you happen to be interested in a girls 20 bike, perhaps a pink bicycle for a gift for your daughter or only looking over the best mountain bike reviews you need to obtain the best bike for your needs.

One thing that is usually the first on the list is the cost of the bike. Of course you are going to need to think about how much you will ride your bike as well as where you are going to be riding it, but cost is one of the most important things.

You can find bicycles that range in price from hundreds of dollars to thousands of dollars. That doesn’t mean all bicycles are going to cost that much, so don’t worry; there is no reason why you can’t find a great bicycle that is in your price range. You can go to auctions and find some of the best bikes available for a fraction of the price of new ones.

For road bikes take away 9 inches from the total of your inseam. This is because of the size of the tires on your road bike. Road bikes are meant for city cycling-the tires are thinner and work best on concrete paving. You will want to subtract 12″ for a mountain bike. Again this is to account for the type of tires you will be using. These tires are designed to handle rocky and jagged terrain so are therefore thicker. You can always use a mountain bike for city cycling, although this is not how they are best used.

You also want to make sure you leave some room between you and the crossbar of your bike. When you get a bike be sure to move the seat up a couple of inches from the crossbar. You should be able to still rest your feet flat on the floor. You will want to leave different clearance lengths depending on the type of bicycle you are buying. For example a touring bike will require around an inch. For mountain bikes you will require somewhere around 3 inches. As you can see, there are many things to take into consideration when deciding on the perfect bicycle for you. There are people who view the durability of a bike to be most important, this is especially true if you plan to use your bike a lot over rough terrain. Others need a bicycle that will help get them from point to point with very little chance of breaking down. Some people have to think very seriously about the price they are paying for a bike. Be sure to shop around before taking the final decision and parting with your cash. Buying the first bike you find is not advised, in doing this you could end up with a terrible bike and miss out on one that is perfect for you.
